$ larped --boot
LARP it,
then learn it.
LARPEd is the education branch of LARP LAB TH. Play the role first, like the hacker, the astronomer or the maker, and do the real thing. Then learn the theory behind what you just did.

01How it works
Act first. Understand second.
LARP means live-action role-play. Doing comes before theory in every lesson, because it's easier to learn why something works once you've watched it work.
$ larp
1LARP it
Every lesson opens with a mission. Act the part, the hacker or the astronomer, and do the real thing before you fully understand it.
$ learn
2Learn it
Then the lesson explains what you just did: the commands, the physics, the maths. The theory has something to stick to now.
$ check
3Check it
Short questions you answer by doing, not by guessing. If you can do it again without the lesson, you’ve got it.
02Subjects
Pick a world to land on.
LARPEd will hold courses from many subjects. These are the first four.
01 · ./cs
Computer Science
Terminals, code and the machines underneath. Start by acting like the hacker in the movie, then find out what the commands really do.
1 live · 1 course
02 · ./astro
Astronomy & Physics
From the Sun to the black hole at the end of the map. Play mission control first, then learn the physics that keeps the ship on course.
1 course
03 · ./math
Mathematics
The maths behind games, graphics and orbits. Build the thing that needs the formula, then meet the formula.
1 course
04 · ./maker
Electronics & Making
Boards, sensors and things that blink. Wire it up like you know what you're doing, then learn why it works.
1 course
03Courses
Courses in orbit.
One is live, the rest are being written. Live courses open; SOON ones are on the way.
./cs/terminal-101
Terminal 101: LARP as a hacker
You play the hacker in a 90s movie
Open a terminal, move around a computer without a mouse and make your first files. Three short lessons.
./astro/space-101
Space 101: From the Sun to Gargantua
You play mission control on a deep-space flight
Fly outward from the Sun, past the Milky Way, through a wormhole and up to a black hole. Learn the scale and the physics on the way.
./math/vectors-for-games
Vectors for game devs
You play a game developer with a deadline tomorrow
Make a ship move, turn and shoot, then learn the vector maths that you just used without noticing.
04Flight plan
From the Sun to Gargantua.
Scroll this page and you fly it: the Solar System, the Milky Way, a wormhole and a black hole. Every course sits somewhere on that path.
01SOLAR SYSTEM1 AU
Start close to home
Beginner lessons. Things you can try on your own machine in ten minutes.
02MILKY WAY26,000 LY
See the whole map
Subjects connect. The terminal you learned leads to code; code leads to simulations of the sky.
03WORMHOLE∞ → 0
Take the shortcut
LARP is the shortcut: do the advanced thing early, with a guide, before the theory catches up.
04GARGANTUAEVENT HORIZON
Go deep
Advanced courses. Past the event horizon there’s no going back to not knowing it.
05FAQ
Questions from mission control.
>What does "LARP it then learn it" mean?
LARP means live-action role-play: acting a role as if it were real. Each lesson starts with a short mission where you act the part, like the hacker, the astronomer or the engineer, and do the real thing before you fully understand it. Then the lesson explains what you just did. Doing first gives the theory something to stick to.
>Who makes LARPEd?
LARPEd is the education branch of LARP LAB TH, a team of college students from Thailand who build software, tools and devices. The lessons come from things we actually had to learn while building.
>Do I need an account?
Not right now. Lessons are plain pages you can read and follow. Accounts and progress tracking may come later; we’ll say so here when they do.
>Which subjects are coming?
We’re starting with computer science, then astronomy and physics, maths and electronics. Courses marked SOON are planned and being written. Want a subject we don’t have? Email us and tell us.
>Is there a Thai version?
Not yet. LARPEd starts in English. A Thai version is on the roadmap.
